I spent this week with the main goal of doing stuff (don’t get bored!!). This ended up with me trying to balance being very Canadian with also doing some volunteer work.
After work, I headed up Main Street to go join the fellow volunteers at the campaign HQ of Bernadette Smith. We canvassed a poll. After canvassing, I headed home and watched hockey.
I got home by the time the second period started. By that time, I was pretty exhausted. However, when hockey came on, I let the true Canadian out in me. This meant I was always asking why the ref called dumb penalties, how could the player miss that golden opportunity, and why wasn’t Nashville scoring?
In the end, Nashville proved me wrong. They won 4 to 1 that night. SCREW THE PENS.
I canvassed again for the NDP on Thursday. I stayed a bit longer than wanted, around 8:30 or 9 pm. I was happy that I missed a one sided affair in the hockey game that night. 6-0 for the Pens? Pekka Rinne pulled? Wow. That’s a game I’m happy I missed.
As for most Sundays, I go to Shannon’s Irish Pub. This time, I recorded a short minute clip of their music. If you’re interested, come take a look!
As well, it was game 6 of the Stanley Cup Final. I stayed at Shannon’s, hung out with a friend named J. She was there for most of the game but had to leave. My friend from Montreal, Jared, joined after.
It was a bit of a letdown that Pittsburgh won another cup. I can’t stand that team. Although, I was happy P.K. Subban got to participate in a Stanley Cup final. I doubt this will be the last we see him in a final for sure. I hope to see Nashville in the finals next year. Go Preds!
(Tomorrow’s blog is a can’t miss. Stay tuned.)
